The Bayshore Marathon, first run in 1983, was founded by local runners keen to show off the beauty of the Grand Traverse Region and the Old Mission Peninsula. It is now part of a popular event, also including a half marathon, 10K and kids' run.

Bayshore Marathon Route
Starting on the grounds of Northwestern Michigan College, runners follow a flat and fast course that's great for anyone hoping to achieve a PR. After a mile of residential neighborhoods, the route follows the waterfront along the East Arm of Grand Traverse Bay, with much amazing scenery to enjoy along the way.
