13,500 participants who now run in a race that is rated as one of the best marathons.
There is also the choice for runners to take part in the Houston Half Marathon.
Houston Marathon Route
The course is a flat, fast, scenic and single-loop, having been rated by the Ultimate Guide To Marathons as the "fastest winter marathon" and "second fastest marathon overall".
The race starts in front of Minute Maid Park, close to the George R. Brown Convention Center (GRB). It then loops
round downtown Houston and nearby suburbs before reaching the finish line at the GRB.
