After starting, runners leave Hopkinton, heading through Ashland, Framingham, Natick and Wellesley. They then run through Newton Lower Falls along Commonwealth Avenue to Newton Hills, bearing right at the reservoir towards Cleveland Circle. They then turn left into Beacon Street. The route then leads towards Commonwealth Avenue before turning right into Hereford Street and left into Boylston Street before the final stretch to the finish line at Copley Square.
