The Carlsbad Marathon describes itself as "the BEST and most scenic winter race with the BEST swag!" with "miles and miles of breathtaking ocean views with outstanding course support". There are also option to run a half marathon or 5K.

Carlsbad Marathon Route
Runners follow a gently rolling, 2-lap out-and-back course, starting and finishing at the Shoppes at Carlsbad. While running, they will enjoy many scenic and interesting sights, such as the Buena Vista Lagoon, Carlsbad Village and many stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.
