The Coast Guard Marathon is part of a weekend of running in celebration of the US Coast Guard. Other race options include a half marathon, a 5K and a 1K race.

Coast Guard Marathon Route
Starting from the Museum of the Albemarle, runners follow a one lap course through downtown Elizabeth City. After passing along Pasquotank riverfront, the route takes athletes past various sites of interest, including WWII airship hangers and the the historic downtown district. The race finishes close to the start line, at Elizabeth City State University.
