The Deseret News Marathon is the longest-operating marathon in Utah. It celebrates Pioneer Day (July 24) with a course that follows the route of the pioneers. Other Desert News races taking place include a half marathon, 10K, 5K, and 1K.

Deseret News Marathon Route
Starting from the top of Big Mountain up Emigration Canyon, runners follow a downhill course, dropping 3,000 feet, and finish along the Days of 47 Parade route.
