The Gettysburg North South Marathon commemorates the Battle of Gettysburg, possibly the most well known battle of the Civil War.

Gettysburg North South Marathon Route
The course is slightly hilly and follows a loop, starting and finishing at the Eisenhower Conference Center. Most of the hilly sections are in the first 11 miles, with the remainder of the race being generally flat. Runners will pass through the site of the Gettysburg Battle as well as scenic local neighborhoods and past orchards and nearby countryside. It crosses the historic Mason-Dixon Line before reaching a turnaround point in Maryland.
