The Jekyll Island Marathon is the only 26.2 mile race being held on any of the Georgia barrier islands. There is also a Jekyll Island Half Marathon and a 10K race.

Jekyll Island Marathon Route
The marathon is run on a flat, predominantly tarmac course.

Starting at the corner of Shell Road and Beachview Drive, runners follow a one lap course, preceeded with a a short out-and-back section, around the island. Along the way they will experience some amazing views of the area, including Driftwood Beach and Historic Village.
