The Leadville Trail Marathon is the highest trail Marathon in the USA. Organisers advise that "you'll need all the Grit, Guts and Determination you can muster."

Leadville Trail Marathon Route
Starting and finishing in Leadville, runners follow a 26.4 mile out-and-back trail course on dirt roads and single track through the historic mining district on the east side of Leadville. With an elevation gain of 6,167 feet, it peaks at Mosquito Pass, the highest continuous pass in the country, making it the highest trail Marathon in the US.
