The Pittsburgh Marathon first took place in 1985. There is also a half marathon and a marathon relay.

Pittsburgh Marathon Route
The marathon is a reasonably flat, urban road race through downtown and surrounding Pittsburgh. Runners start at Liberty Avenue between Sixth Street and Seventh Street and finish at the Boulevard of the Allies, between Commonwealth Place and Stanwix Street.
