The Race the Lake Marathon was first run in 2014, and is now an annual event. There is also a Race the Lake Half Marathon.

Race the Lake Marathon Route
The race follows a picturesque route around Otsego Lake. Runners will run through Cooperstown, Springfield, Middlefield and the Town of Otsego. They will enjoy views of the lake for most of the race while passing Glimmerglass Opera, The Farmers Museum, The Otesaga Resort Hotel and other local landmarks.
