Sometimes known as "America's Friendliest Marathon", the Richmond Marathon was first run in 1977.
Richmond Marathon Route
The race is a loop, starting and finishing in historic downtown Richmond. Runners pass through all of the city's old neighborhoods.
On the way the run up Monument Avenue, passing by the statues of Confederate soldiers and Richmond-born tennis star Arthur Ashe then
through Virginia Commonwealth University campus and along the side of the James River. The race ends with a last mile that includes a fast
downhill slope to the finish line.

* Entry Fee : $85 (until Nov 16), $95 (until Apr 14), $105 (until Jun 30), $120 (until Sep 15), $135 (until Nov 11), $150 (until Nov 15)
* Registration Deadline : November 15
