The Run Oak Island Marathon is organised by Coastal Races. It is part of a weekend of running also including an ultramarathon, two half marathons, a 10K, a 5K and a 1 mile race.

Run Oak Island Marathon Route
Starting on E Dolphin Drive, runners follow a mainly flat, one lap course through the streets of Oak Island. As the sun rises the route heads past a wealth of stunning scenery and local landmarks , including the local country club and arboretum which home to 1,000 year old trees. Other site to appreciate along the way are the lighthouse (a popular spot for a selfie) and the intercoastal bridge at mile 23 before a flat and fast 3 miles to the finish line.
