Based on the local Cleveland rivalry, the Run The Land East v West Marathon is a competition between those living on either side of the Cuyahoga River. It also raises money for many local charities.

Runners follow a predominantly flat route around Cleveland, including the lakefront area, crossing the river twice on the way to the finish line.
