The Shiprock Marathon is the oldest and largest marathon on the Navajo Nation. It is part of a weekend of running, also including a 5K trail race and a Shiprock Kids Marathon.

In 2024, USA Today voted the Shiprock Marathon the 3rd best marathon in the USA.

Shiprock Marathon Route
Runners follow an out-and-back course across the desert near Shiprock. As well as stunning views of Shiprock Pinnacle, participants will enjoy lots of live music along the way.
