The Yakima River Canyon is a stunningly scenic race and a Boston qualifying marathon. There is also a half marathon on the same day.

Yakima River Canyon Marathon Route
Runners follow scenic, point-to-point course through the Yakima River Canyon.

The race starts on Canyon Road a short distance south of the Berry Road intersection in Ellensburg, Washington. After two brief loops the route runners are directed south to the canyon. With two big hill and and plenty of bends to contend with, runners follow the river south along the asphalt highway. Many tired legs will appreciate the final two miles, all downhill, to the finish line and cheering crowds in Selah.
