The Wineglass Marathon was Voted "Speediest Marathon" by Runner's World Readers in 2010. It is also listed as the 10th best US marathon in terms of percentage of runners qualifying for the Boston Marathon. There is also a marathon relay race, the Merrill Lynch Team Relay.

Wineglass Marathon Route
The marathon is a point-to-point race starting at Philips Lighting in Bath and finishing at Riverfront Park in Corning, New York, passing the Corning Museum of Glass on the way.

The route is predominantly flat. Starting with a downhill 2-mile stretch the race flattens out for the next 2 miles before entering the countryside at Savona, where there are some excellent views. The race is then slightly undulating with a slight decline on to the 14 mile point.

The second half of the race is equally enjoyable. Heading down to Coopers Plains (mile 18.2) the route drops 80 feet. From there runners are directed to Painted Post and on a couple of miles before entering a nearby park and passing through a residential area, to the village of Riverside and into Corning. It is then a flat track 3.5 miles, with cheering crowds, to the finish line.
