Avenue of the Giants Marathon

The Avenue of the Giants Marathon was first run in 1972 when 32 local runners were looking for a marathon to run which would give them a chance to qualify for that year's US Olympic Trials. It has since grown, now also with the option of a 2-person marathon relay, as well as a half marathon and a 10K.

Avenue of the Giants Marathon Route
Starting just beyond the Dyerville Bridge on Bull Creek Road, runners follow a double out-and-back course through Humboldt Redwoods State Park. The 6.5 miles to the turnaround point is initially flat, followed by some small hilly sections, all under the canopy of giant Redwoods.
