Described as "flat, fast & fun", the Erie Marathon is a popular and scenic race based in Presque Isle State Park, Pennsylvania. It is popular with runners seeking to qualify for the Boston Marathon.

Erie Marathon Route
The race starts and finishes at the Erie Runners Club Pavilion (near Beach 1, close to the Presque Isle State Park entrance). Runners will experience a flat, mostly asphalt course, with the remaining one third of the route being run on concrete. Most of the 26.2 miles also offers the option to run on grass, and the majority of the distance is shaded from the sun.

With a 250-foot total change in elevation the race boasts as being on of the flattest. Consistently helping many runners qualify for the Boston Marathon, this is not an idle boast.
