The Louisiana Marathon is one of several running events taking place during a weekend of running. As well as othere races, including the Louisiana Half Marathon and 5K, the event incorporates food stalls, music, and dancing.

Louisiana Marathon Route
The race starts on Poydras Street near Lafayette Square in the Central Business District and finishes in City Park near Tad Gormley Stadium. Runners follow a flat and fast course on a runner-friendly path that passes the lakes, goes along the side of the river, through downtown, on to the university campus and takes in historic neighborhoods. The terrain is ideal for achieving a PR. Unsurprisingly, as large number of Boston Marathon runners qualify from this race.
