The Route 66 Marathon is open to 20,000 participants. It is part of a series of running events, and entertainment including a half marathon, relay marathon, 5k and fun run and walk.

Route 66 Marathon Route
The course is a mixture of flat and hilly sections, the first half of the course being somewhat hilly, while the second half is flat as a pancake. out-and-back alongside the Arkansas River. There is a lot of concrete on view around the course, but the scenery is very pleasant overall.

The Route 66 Marathon starts and finishes at Veteran's Park, on Boulder Avenue between 18th and 21st. Runners are directed through the town towards and over the Arkansas River. Then, 2 miles further north, they come back over the river into downtown Tulsa heading back south towards the finish line at Veteran's Park.
