Saddleback Marathon

First run in 1988, in the Saddleback Mountains of the Cleveland National Forest, the Saddleback Marathon is described as California's premiere trail marathon.

Saddleback Marathon Route
Starting and finishing at Black Start Canyon, runners follow and out-and-back course along a relatively flat truck trail into the canyon for approximately 2.5 miles. At the Falls turnoff, the route climbs several switchbacks into the Mariposa Reserve, continuing up to the Doppler on N. Main Divide, providing great views of Riverside and Orange Counties. From there, runners turn back, heading down The Main Divide back towards the finish line.
