The Army Marathon was established to honor our Soldiers and National Guardsmen on the anniversary of the "Shot Heard Around The World" - the Battles of Lexington and Concord in 1775 that were the first sparks of the American Revolutionary War.

Army Marathon Route
The route is point to point, undulating and has a net elevation loss of 273 feet.

The race starts at the Killeen Convention Center, on South S.W. Young Drive in Killeen. The course heads north through Killeen, passing near to Fort Hood, the largest military post in the free world. The route continues north and east on past Belton Lake. The closing miles of the race continue along the FM 2305 to the Army Marathon finish line just south of Highway 36.
